Series of Armed Robberies Hit South Shore and West Englewood

The Chicago Police Department has issued a community advisory stating that the 003rd (Grand Crossing) District has been plagued by a recent wave of armed robberies. One to two armed attackers attacked the victims, who were all male people walking in the South Shore and West Englewood districts. The attackers displayed a firearm, grabbed their things by force, and then fled on foot.

According to the alert, the occurrences happened over the course of several weeks, with Wednesday seeing the most recent ones. The perpetrators, identified as African-American males wearing black hooded sweatshirts and ski masks, struck the South Shore region twice and one West Englewood location, exhibiting a distinct pattern.

It is advised that locals remain vigilant and notify the authorities right away of any strange or suspicious activity. In the event of a confrontation, the CPD suggests maintaining composure and making an effort to identify and apprehend the attacker by noting any distinctive characteristics. For safety reasons, it is strongly discouraged to pursue a fleeing suspect. Witnesses should instead contact law enforcement with any relevant information.
