A man was taken into custody by Southfield police on Friday and is currently facing felony charges of prostitution, torture, and human trafficking. The victim outwitted her alleged trafficker, according to the police, which allowed them to make the arrest. A 911 call from the Sonesta Suites in Southfield initially informed them of the incident.
In a 911 call that CBS News Detroit was able to get, the victim stated, “I was duped into a sex trafficking situation.” “And I am being honest, I fear for my life.”
Prenentice Orr, 41, of Wyoming, Michigan, was taken into custody as a result of the call, according to Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren.
“Orr would sexually abuse the woman while she slept in order to wake her up for possible clients. According to Barren, the woman told police that Orr would arrange dates for her and use coercive methods to keep her from leaving Michigan.
According to the victim, Orr informed her that he was a member of a gang and had a history of murder. He also seized her credit cards, ID, and cell phone.
According to the victim, the suspect denied her meals and only let her to consume coffee and sea moss. This, according to Barren, is utilized to lose weight.
When the victim first met Orr, she informed authorities that she was homeless and residing in Georgia. Before being brought to Southfield, she claimed to have spent the previous two weeks being sold for sex in Georgia, Ohio, and other locations in Michigan.
According to the victim, she purposefully left the phone chargers in Orr’s vehicle so that she would be sent to get them, which would allow her time to flee and make the 911 call.
Orr was taken into custody by police, who revealed that he had a nationwide criminal record that dates back to 1999 and included narcotics trafficking, pimping, armed robbery, and domestic abuse.
In anticipation of his court appearance on December 5, Orr is now being held on a $3 million bail. Barren, other human traffickers should take note of this.

After being transported to a hospital for treatment, the victim is currently being cared for in a shelter.
According to the police, Orr was traveling with another woman who had also been coerced into adopting the lifestyle. The woman looked after Orr’s 4-year-old child, according to Barren. He said that at the time of the arrest, the child was in a nearby hotel room. Child Protective Services was given custody of the child and is currently searching for the child’s mother.
