Shop Local Macomb Returns for 8th Year with Prize Opportunities for Shoppers and Businesses in Macomb County

With the holiday season approaching, Macomb County is once again encouraging residents to support local businesses through its annual Shop Local Macomb campaign. Now in its eighth year, the initiative urges shoppers to explore the county s more than 1,600 independently owned retail businesses. As an incentive, participants have the chance to win one of ten $150 gift cards provided by First State Bank, simply by shopping locally and sharing their experience. To enter, shoppers must submit a photo taken at a local retailer between November 22 and December 8 on MakeMacombYourHome.com and post it on social media using the hashtag #ShopLocalMacomb.

The campaign not only rewards shoppers but also offers a unique opportunity for local businesses. Retailers featured in consumer-submitted photos are entered into a raffle for a $1,000 grant, with winners selected on December 9. County Executive Mark Hackel emphasized the importance of this initiative, calling it a way to support the small businesses that are integral to Macomb s identity. “These businesses are part of what makes Macomb a great place to call home,” he noted in a statement, as perMacomb County website.

Organized by the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development, in partnership with local chambers and organizations such as Connect Macomb and the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, the campaign celebrates the county’s vibrant retail community.
