Silver Alert Issued for Missing 83-Year-Old Man from Grafton Last Seen in Beloit

A Silver Alert has been issued by Ozaukee County authorities for Richard Wohlers, an 83-year-old Grafton resident who was last seen on Thursday night in the City of Beloit. Wohlers was last seen at Riverside Gas Mart in Beloit at approximately 5:20 p.m., having left his home between 12 and 1 p.m., according to FOX6 News. It is noteworthy that Wohlers had no ties to the region where he was last seen.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wohlers is operating a blue-green 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis with the Wisconsin license plate 987RVJ. The car’s unique design may aid in locating him, and law enforcement has expressed concern because Wohlers is thought to have dementia or another cognitive impairment, which heightens the urgency of his safe return.

Wohlers was described as a Caucasian man, around 5’11”, with blue eyes and white hair, weighing 250 pounds, and wearing blue pants, a blue jacket, and a red puffy vest when he vanished. According to CBS58, the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who knows where he is to come forward and help. It is hoped that a community effort would help assure Richard Wohlers’ safety and timely return. Anyone with information on Wohlers is invited to call the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office at (262) 284-7172.
