Single-vehicle Accident on I-40 in Greensboro Sends Woman to Hospital With Life-threatening Injuries

DDN – According to officials with the Greensboro Police Department, a woman sustained injuries that are considered to be life-threatening as a result of an incident involving a single vehicle.

Officers stated that they responded to the area of Interstate 40 West and East Gate City Boulevard on Tuesday at approximately 2:24 a.m. after receiving reports of a collision that resulted in injuries caused by drivers.

Officials stated that a Dodge Charger was traveling east on Interstate 40 when it went off the road, collided with a railing and an embankment, and ultimately flipped over and flipped over again.

The motorist was sent to the hospital with injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit of the GPD is conducting an investigation.
