(CBS DETROIT) A new clipper system is expected to bring more snow and frigid air on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing significant changes to Southeast Michigan.
This fast-moving low-pressure system, which originated in Canada, is expected to bring chilly air, strong winds, and possibly snow accumulation throughout the middle of the week.
According to the most recent forecasts, Wayne, Washtenaw, Lenawee, and Monroe counties should only see a trace to an inch by Thursday morning. One to three inches of snow could fall in Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair, and Sanilac counties.
Starting Wednesday afternoon, snow will arrive in a few bands.
By Thursday morning, the majority of accumulation will have stopped. The afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid-30s.
Winds could reach 45 miles per hour by Thursday. Thursday morning’s wind chills, or feels-like temperatures, will be in the single digits.
Thursday and Friday will be the only days with highs of thirty. By next Monday, the temperature will gradually climb up into the mid-40s.
