St. Louis Announces Revised Trash Collection Schedule for Thanksgiving Week

Residents of St. Louis, be aware that in order to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday, the city is changing the timetable for garbage collection. Due to the Thanksgiving Day celebration on Thursday, November 28, the City of St. Louis Refuse Division has announced that roll cart garbage pickup for certain homeowners would be temporarily changed. People who usually anticipate recycling services on Thursday will need to change their calendars, while Monday solid garbage collection will continue as planned.

Residents who typically have their roll carts collected on Monday for solid waste and on Thursday for recycling will now have their trash collected on Monday, November 25, and their recycling picked up on Wednesday, November 27, in an effort to better manage the holiday schedule. According to the Refuse Division, this update enables employees to enjoy Thanksgiving Day with their families. It’s crucial to remember, though, that the City of St. Louis has indicated that the yard waste collection that was initially scheduled for Wednesday will also need to be rescheduled.

However, in order to avoid unduly burdening the revised schedule, yard waste pickup, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, has been canceled. Residents will have to wait until it returns on Wednesday, December 4th, if they need to dispose of yard garbage. The City of St. Louis Refuse Division has posted information on their website for anyone interested in learning more about the temporary modifications.

In addition to Thanksgiving schedule updates, the Refuse Division website addresses inquiries about Bulky and B.O.A.T. products (Batteries, Oil, Appliances, Tires), Illegal Dumping, Remodeling and Renovation, Yard Waste and Christmas Trees, and Recycling. For advice on how to properly manage their trash throughout the holidays and beyond, residents are urged to visit the City of St. Louis website.
