Kobyashi Jones, a 50-year-old resident of the 5600 block of Cates, has been named by officials as the victim of the deadly shooting in the West End. Jones was discovered dead from gunshot wounds in an alley on the 700 block of Goodfellow on Monday afternoon of last week.

Shortly after the incident, a 37-year-old male was captured by police and charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm and resisting arrest, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Detectives are still looking into the event in an effort to learn more about the specifics of the attack. The identity of the suspect is still a mystery. At the crime site, a gun was discovered.
