Storm Tragedy in Natchez: Teen Dies and Two Hurt After Getting Trapped in Home

NATCHEZ, Miss. – A tragic incident unfolded Saturday night when a severe storm struck Natchez, leaving one person dead and two others injured after they were trapped inside a home. According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), the storm caused a tree to fall on a residence on West Wood Road, trapping the victims inside.

Around 6:45 p.m., Adams County EMA Director Brad Bradford reported that authorities were at the scene, responding to the emergency. Adams County Coroner James Lee later confirmed the death of 18-year-old Tykeria Rogers. Two others were injured in the incident, but their identities have not been disclosed.

The storm, which brought heavy winds and severe weather to the area, caused widespread damage throughout Natchez, and this tragic event highlights the dangers posed by such unpredictable conditions. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and the community is mourning the loss of Rogers, while also hoping for the full recovery of the two individuals injured in the storm.

Local officials are urging residents to stay vigilant and prepared as severe weather conditions persist across the region.
