Method to Determined The Highest Divorced Places In Texas
Because this is the 58th category of rankings we are putting together for the site, we already knew where to find information on marriage and divorce in America. We used Saturday Night Science to examine the U.S. Census Bureau’s data on divorce rates. Why does the U.S. government enjoy tracking misery so much?
We specifically examined the Marital Status data from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey table S1201.
It was pretty easy to do — all we had to do was take out the column of data below:

There are some interesting, fun, and sad data.Out of all the young women in America between the ages of 15 and 19, 1% of them are divorced. However, none of the young men in that age group are divorced. It’s likely that the 0% figure for males is due to rounding, but it’s still worth noting. However, the national data will be discussed on a different day. Today, we are analyzing 360 locations in Texas that have a population of over 5,000.
We organized each location based on the proportion of people over 15 years old who are divorced, starting with the highest percentage and ending with the lowest. We have named Bastrop as the divorce capital of Texas because it has the highest number of divorced individuals.
