The city of Surprise invites residents and visitors alike to kickstart their holiday cheer at the annual Surprise Party. For two nights, on December 6 and 7, families and friends can gather at the Surprise Recreation Campus, located at 15960 N. Bullard Ave, to engage in a festive winter extravaganza, at no cost. The event promises a sleigh-full of activities that aim to deliver holiday fun for everyone.

The festivities are set to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, with an array of DJ music and family-centric activities, alongside live entertainment. In a plan to truly capture the essence of the season, a special surprise performance will be part of Friday evening’s lineup. Following this, a Tree Lighting Ceremony will be hosted by the Mayor and City Council at 6:30 p.m. This will be accompanied by the adrenaline-pumping Aerial Extreme Skydiving Team, and the night will cap off with a fireworks spectacle. As part of the event,

announced that Sparkling Surprise, a light display shining with nearly 200,000 lights, will be illuminating Surprise Community Park.

Continue to immerse yourself in holiday enchantment on Saturday with two distinct drone shows scheduled, featuring 200 LED-lit drones crafting animations synchronized to festive music. The evening won’t slow down as it then transitions to a hot air balloon glow, artists performing live ice sculpting, and the unique opportunity to play in real snow under the desert sky.

Sponsors for this year’s celebration include heavy-hitters like Lou Malnati’s, Sanderson Lincoln, Sanderson Ford, and Banner Health. Organizers are kindly asking attendees to consider bringing canned food donations to support Operation Santa, a charity effort led by Sanderson Ford and Sanderson Lincoln to help those in need. For more comprehensive event details, including maps for navigation, parking tips and updates on road closures, prospective party-goers are encouraged to visit the official event site or to reach out via the contact number provided by the city at 623.222.2000.
