Following a spate of burglaries that concerned business owners in Perris, California, Riverside County Sheriff’s officers have apprehended a suspect. Before his arrest on Thursday morning, the suspect—who was identified as Lavelle Davis, 36, of Perris—was wanted. The robbery occurred on Tuesday, October 22, at a neighborhood company located in the 500 block of Indian Hills Circle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities originally failed to locate Davis despite obtaining video evidence and issuing a warrant. The case broke when someone called to report a burglary at a shop on East State Hwy 74 in Green Acres. After a brief delay, deputies arrived and arrested Davis, who was being held by the shop owner. According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department statement, Davis is currently facing numerous counts of burglary and probation violations.
The suspect’s claimed rampage appears to have ended with his booking into the Cois Byrd Detention Center. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Sanchez of the Robbery Burglary Suppression Team has urged anyone with more information about the case to come forward.
