Two individuals have been placed under arrest following a road rage incident that culminated in the tragic death of a 16-year-old in Haltom City. As reported by

, 21-year-old Jasue Moreno and Juan Perez are now facing murder charges related to the shooting that occurred on the morning of September 15 near East Belknap Road. Authorities have painstakingly traced the suspects, beginning their inquiry with only a grainy image of the vehicle they thought to be involved.

, the vehicle, a black 1999 Honda Accord, was found with attempts made to obscure its original appearance—efforts that included bleach and spray paint. The car was abandoned in the backyard of a vacant property in Fort Worth. Haltom City Police arrested Moreno at his place of employment, while Perez was apprehended Tuesday in Fort Worth. Sgt. Rick Alexander has publicly recognized the intensive two-month investigation by citing the significant role of Flock cameras and surveillance video in facilitating these arrests.
More than the arrest of Moreno and Perez, who are alleged to have both discharged their weapons during the fatal encounter, the investigation has revealed a broader circle of individuals, possibly privy to the crime’s details. “It was later learned during the investigation, not only talked to other people about the offense, but posted on social media. So there were a handful of people who knew about it,” Sgt. Alexander detailed to

. This includes friends of Moreno, whose cellphones were found to contain search histories of news coverage and videos alluding to the shooting.
As the pursuit of justice continues, Haltom City PD is still actively seeking two more individuals believed to have been in the Honda Accord on a fateful evening.
