Chicago, Illi. (DDN) – A fiery crash rocked Chicago as the car involved in the crash was ripped in several pieces after the accident.

A man died on Sunday night in the West Pullman area on the South Side of the city after he crashed his car and was thrown from the vehicle.

The man was driving a white SUV in the 12000 block of South Halsted Street, heading north, shortly before 8 p.m. He crashed into a tree and two parked cars that were not occupied, and then he was thrown out of his vehicle, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The car was split in half by the power of the impact, and fragments of it were left strewn across the area.

According to the police, the individual was declared deceased at the spot, and there were no additional injuries reported. The man’s identity has not been determined. The identity will only be revealed after notification to the kin and their subsequent approval for sharing the name of the person involved in the crash.

Authorities said a Nissan Armada was hit head-on by another vehicle while traveling south in the middle lane. The Nissan was not the only car involved in the crash; another car was behind it.

Authorities said the 42-year-old driver of the Nissan, Troy Garlock, was found dead at the site. The family claims that when the accident happened, Garlock’s daughters, Mabel, age 6, and Elsie, age 8, were seated in the back seat.
