A suspect wanted in connection with carjacking and attacking a woman he allegedly met through a dating app has come forward, Detroit police said Friday.

The 15-year-old went to the authorities on Tuesday, one day after the police asked for tips, according to the ministry.

Police did not reveal any further details about his status on Wednesday evening.

A 24-year-old woman had walked to the 20400 block of Northlawn at around 11 p.m. on December 2 to meet with someone she had connected to through a dating app.

She picked up the husband and a second husband, then drove to Margareta and Meyers where she was asked to park her 2012 Chrysler 200. The first person to sit in the passenger seat slapped the victim once in the face. then she pressed her face against the glass window, “says a press release.

The man then asked an attendant in the back seat to pull the woman from the driver’s seat. The man threw her to the ground, the police said. As she ran away, the suspects threw her purse out of the car and drove off.

Authorities recovered the Chrysler the next day.
