A 14-year-old boy was shot in Chicago’s West Side while sitting in a parked car on Monday evening, according to local authorities. The incident took place in the North Lawndale neighborhood, specifically on the 3400 block of Grenshaw Street.

reported that the shooting occurred just after 8 p.m., and that the boy was hit in the leg by gunfire.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to the incident, promptly transporting the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. Suffering from his injuries, the teen is expected to recover, despite the violence that marred an otherwise quiet night.
