Two young males, a 13-year-old and 18-year-old Keith Jackson, have been taken into custody in Memphis following a carjacking incident and subsequent police pursuit which resulted in a crash, according to local authorities. reported. The following day, Memphis Police located the vehicle in the Hickory Hill area, but the attempt to stop the car led to a chase that unfolded on Hickory Hill Road and Ridgeway Boulevard, eventually ending in a crash.
The police pursuit was initiated to allegedly apprehend the suspects after they failed to obey a traffic stop. The vehicle, which was reportedly being operated recklessly, was disabled upon impact after the crash. The 13-year-old was apprehended after attempting to quickly flee on foot from the scene, facing charges of theft of property and evading arrest. According to a statement obtained by

, the bond for the older teen, Keith Jackson, was set at an initial amount of $500,000, although there was a discrepancy in the jail log listing it as $50,000.
Jackson was charged with multiple felonies including aggravated robbery, evading arrest both on foot and in a vehicle, reckless driving, carjacking, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

They are still looking at the attraction of what their friends are getting and they’re getting away with it.” He also highlighted the dilemma faced by some parents in these communities, regarding complicity or tough love, when they discover their children’s involvement in crimes such as car theft. Records obtained by officials reveal that Jackson was already a repeat offender, connecting him to similar crimes prior to the latest charges he faces now.
