Ten Years, One Ticket a Week Michigan Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize

LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. (DDN) – A man from Michigan won a $1 million jackpot after playing Powerball for ten years. Robert Benaglio, who is from Dryden, purchased a ticket at a BP gas station in Metamora. He matched all five white balls in the Michigan Lottery drawing on December 23.

Benaglio stated, “For the past ten years, I have purchased a Powerball ticket for one drawing every week.” “I found out that I was a big winner when I scanned the ticket on New Year’s Eve, but I had won the prize just before Christmas.”

The only phrase I can think of to describe the emotion of discovering that you have won one million dollars is “shocking.” I believe that I am finally starting to realize that this is real, and I am just now starting to believe it!

Benaglio stated that he would keep purchasing a Powerball ticket every week, even after he had won.

He responded, “I get $2 worth of daydreaming out of it each week, so why not?”

Benaglio stated that he would use the money he won to pay off his cars and go on a trip. He will keep the remaining money.
