DDN – A terrible find was discovered Wednesday in Opa-locka.

Residents were stunned to discover a body floating in a canal near the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue went to the scene and pulled a man’s body from the ocean.

One witness that her mother first observed something in the water but didn’t recognize it as a person.

“I was in my room doing my makeup – me and my mom were planning to go out to the beach during the day, but my mom’s friend that lives a few houses down came over to say Happy New Year because we haven’t seen her in a while, and she noticed that something was floating in the water, but she didn’t immediately get like shocked because she thought it was, like, a doll,” a witness told me.

Police say no foul play is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
