. Anderson and his co-conspirators’ four-year operation, that finally ended in 2016 saw them exploit drug-addled, out-of-luck women, many of whom were manipulated straight out of rehab facilities.

The investigation revealed that the perpetrators exercised incomprehensible manipulation over their victims. “Jermall Anderson exploited his victims’ drug addictions to force these women to sell their bodies many times a day, with Anderson pocketing all the money,” Levy described the predator’s tactics. The alleged traffickers used a blend of physical force, threats, and control over narcotics access to keep their victims ensnared in a life they did not choose, as per the

Special Agent in Charge of HSI New England, Michael J. Krol, condemned the actions of Anderson and his cohorts, capturing both the cruelty and calculation behind their enterprise. “He tactically prowled substance abuse rehabilitation facilities to find women with vulnerabilities he could exploit for his own profit,” Krol stated, evidence of Anderson’s predatory strategy. The gravity of the charges against Anderson comes with severe penalties. For the sex trafficking counts, he faces a minimum of 15 years to a potential life sentence, along with fines and supervised release. The other charges carry up to 20 years in prison.
