Texas Driver Killed After Jeep Hits Tree and is Consumed by Flames in Early Morning Grapevine Crash

GRAPEVINE, Texas (DDN) – According to authorities, a driver died after colliding with a tree and setting fire to their Jeep near Grapevine.

According to a police news release, the collision occurred around 2:15 a.m. on Friday in the 2500 block of Mustang Drive.

According to police, a Jeep Wrangler was going west when it drove off the road and collided with a tree in the median. According to authorities, the Jeep took fire and was fully enveloped in flames by the time officers arrived.

Firefighters eventually came and extinguished the fire. According to authorities, the driver died at the site.

The driver was the sole person in the car. Their identity has not yet been revealed.

The crash is currently under investigation by police.
