Texas Trust Credit Union Poised to Enrich Arlington Economy with Expanded HQ and New Jobs

With the Texas Trust Credit Union promising not just to stay in Arlington but also to grow its headquarters and staff, the city’s economy is set for a major boost. An article in the official news of the City of Arlington states that the credit union plans to relocate its offices to 1531 North Cooper St., promising to invest more than $15 million in the project and create 175 jobs by mid-2026.

There have been numerous enhancements made to the current structure, including exterior upgrades, lobby makeovers, and updated elevator and HVAC systems. Josh Mejia, a City of Arlington economic development expert, said he was excited about the partnership. According to the City of Arlington, Mejia stated, “We are excited about the impact this partnership will have on the City of Arlington and Texas Trust Credit Union.”

This comes after a tax abatement arrangement was approved by the Arlington City Council on Tuesday. Texas Trust, an Arlington mainstay since 1936, is eligible for a seventy-five percent tax break on rising property values for ten years, provided it meets certain employment and improvement goals by the end of 2025. The City’s dedication to fostering enduring local companies and promoting regional economic development is demonstrated by this incentive.

Of special importance is the new headquarters’ advantageous location at the junction of Cooper Street and I-30. Gus Garcia, the City of Arlington’s director of economic development, told theCity of Arlington’s news service, “The City of Arlington is thrilled to support Texas Trust Credit Union’s strategic expansion at the key I-30 and Cooper St. intersection.” In addition, he emphasized how the project might make Arlington a more important hub in the DFW metroplex and draw in more corporate relocations and revolutionary redevelopment.
