Following a rigorous certification process, The Colony has been officially recognized as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community, Governor Greg Abbott announced yesterday. This distinction, offered by the Texas Music Office (TMO), acknowledges the city’s dedication to nurturing the local music industry, which contributes to job creation and overall economic development within Texas.

Echoing the governor’s enthusiasm, Senator Tan Parker highlighted The Colony’s success as both an economic hub and a center for entertainment, crediting Grandscape as a pioneering factor in their community and economic development. “As the home of Grandscape, a beacon for economic development and entertainment, The Colony continues to cultivate a strong sense of community and opportunity. I congratulate everyone involved in this deserving honor and look forward to seeing Texas’ cultural legacy continue to inspire and unite us.” Parker mentioned.
Senator Drew Springer commented on the designation’s significance for cultural and economic growth. “The official designation will have a positive impact on both our community and the state. With this certification, The Colony becomes the 66th Music Friendly Texas Certified Community, a program first of its kind initiated by TMO in 2016.
