I must confess that I have developed a taste for indulgence when it comes to ice cream. A decade ago, I stumbled upon Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in Nashville, and it completely transformed my life.
Jeni’s is renowned for its exceptional range of flavors, which is quite an understatement. Moreover, they consistently update their menu across their different locations. Unpredictability can lead to pleasant surprises. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in shops that are stepping up their game and offering decadent and unique flavors. Let’s get ready for what’s coming.
And because ice cream is a treat that I only enjoy from time to time, I don’t have any qualms about splurging a bit for such a delightful experience. However, if I want to indulge in the finest ice cream in Kentucky, as recommended by Travel & Leisure, it would come with a hefty price tag.
This Kentucky Proud Ice Cream is a Costly Delight
A local eatery, Crank & Boom Ice Cream Lounge, underwent a transformation from its previous identity as the Thai Orchid Cafe. The decision to change was prompted by a lack of interest in the Thai cuisine offered by the restaurant. The revamped establishment now offers a unique experience with ice cream cocktails and “adult” sundaes available in the upstairs lounge. Customers flocked to the shop to indulge in the irresistible coconut ice cream, savoring every last bite. At that point, the owners made the decision to change tracks. In this interview, Toa Green, the owner, shares insights into her remarkable creation:
Hey, I’m excited to savor a variety of unique flavors including bourbon & honey, blueberry lime cheesecake, Kentucky blackberry & buttermilk, coffee stout, and many others. Occasionally, a special flavor called Candy Beshear is released as a limited edition.
Crank & Boom in Lexington has been producing a wide variety of delicious ice cream flavors for over ten years, and their business is thriving. We should all contribute to its ongoing success. There are definitely much worse ways to spend my time.
