Although Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags, and Disneyland are all nearby, LEGOLAND, which caters to children aged 2 to 12, provides an alternative amusement park experience for kids who might find other local theme parks too overwhelming.
Staying at the connected LEGOLAND Hotel allows visitors to have the complete LEGO experience. After you’ve had enough LEGO, visit the kid-friendly SEA LIFE Aquarium to form bonds with the sharks and stingrays.
Nearby the famed Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, which feature 55 acres of vivid Giant Tecolote Ranunculus blooms, are LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE. Since the flowers are seasonal, schedule your visit during early March to early May if you wish to witness them in bloom.

Carlsbad’s best beaches for families
With so much coastline, there are many beaches in Carlsbad, making a trip to the beach a must on any vacation. But not every beach is appropriate for every kind of traveler.
The more difficult-to-reach beaches, such as Terramar Beach in south Carlsbad or any of the beaches in north Carlsbad, provide breathtaking views and seclusion. Magnificent cliffs around Terramar Beach.

Consider going to South Ponto Beach if you’re vacationing with children. This beach is surrounded by nature and wildlife and is located in an underdeveloped area of the city. There are lifeguards, public facilities, and even showers at South Ponto Beach.
Desire to remain near the town? Consider Tamarack-State Beach, which is close to the city center and has eateries and retail establishments within walking distance.
Tamarack is the locals’ go-to spot for fishing (go south to the jetty for the finest fishing), and it also has sidewalks along the beach for leisurely strolls. There are lifeguards on duty and public bathrooms at this beach.
