Three people were arrested in Kalamazoo, Michigan, as a consequence of a series of coordinated narcotics raids carried out by the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) on Tuesday and Wednesday. WWMT News reports that officers seized a wide range of drugs, including crack cocaine and more than five ounces of fentanyl powder, in addition to multiple weapons and other items implicated in drug sales.
More than five ounces of fentanyl were confiscated by police in the initial operation on Gull Road. The identity of the 30-year-old man who was arrested and is awaiting several criminal charges was not disclosed at the time of reporting. According to WKZO, two weapons and an ounce of crack and powder cocaine were found during the second bust on Fox Ridge Drive. Two firearms were involved: one with a defaced serial number and another that was not registered. According to reports, the 34-year-old male suspect who was taken into custody here has a history of felony convictions.
Authorities proceeded to Ridgeway Circle, where they seized two cars, over three pounds of powder cocaine, an unregistered weapon, and a sizeable quantity of cash thought to be drug sales profits, according to FOX 17 News. During this raid, a 49-year-old male was taken into custody. He was also prohibited from lawfully owning a firearm due to past crimes.
