MARGATE, Fla. (DDN) – A multi-vehicle incident at a major Margate junction late Tuesday night killed three people and injured two more, police said Wednesday.
Just before midnight, a white BMW moving southbound collided with a silver Honda Accord headed eastbound on Royal Palm Boulevard, according to Margate police.
According to authorities, the BMW collided with a black Toyota Camry heading northbound on Rock Island Road.
Brayan Steven Wilches, 24, the Honda’s driver, and Diana Nino, 47, a rear-seat passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Nancy Sanchez, 27, the Honda’s front passenger, was transferred to Broward Health North but died from her injuries shortly after arrival, according to officials.
The driver of the BMW, Jeremiah Anderson, 26, of Lauderhill, was transferred to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness who requested anonymity reported the fatal crash to Local 10 News reporter Roy Ramos.
“It was really bad,” the witness stated. “Both the cars and the Accord were completely wrecked.
Authorities also reported that a passenger in the BMW was hospitalized with critical injuries, while the Toyota Camry driver received minor injuries and was treated on the spot by Margate Fire Rescue.
