Three Killed in Wake County Crash Near Willow Spring; Speed and Alcohol Suspected

WILLOW SPRING, N.C. (DDN) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has reported that the victims of a disaster that occurred near Willow Spring and caused a crash route in Wake County to be closed for several hours have been recognized by the authorities.

When police responded to a crash on Kennebec Road near Plum Bush Court in Stameys Walk, which is located just a couple of miles south of Willow Spring, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) sent an alert at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Friday.

It has been confirmed by the State Highway Patrol that the collision resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The three individuals, Omar Sanchez, who was 30 years old, Ernesto Esparza, who was 26 years old, and Pablo Rangel, who was 27 years old, were driving down Kennebec Road in a Chevrolet Silverado.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, a trooper who was present at the site told CBS 17 that they thought that alcohol and speeding were factors in the accident. In addition, the findings of their inquiry revealed that the pick-up truck had crossed the double lines, veered off the road, and collided with two enormous cedar trees, which resulted in the truck flipping over.

As soon as the troopers arrived, all three of the people who were inside the truck were pronounced dead, including two people who had been thrown out of the vehicle, according to their investigation. According to the troopers, Sanchez and Rangel were ejected from the vehicle because they were not wearing their seatbelts.

At the site, highway patrol officers were actively investigating the collision, and a tow truck was being used to transport the severely damaged vehicle home.
