Returning to Gangnam Market for its next adventure is Chess Night, an ongoing event founded by locals Ross Shapiro and Dylan Sunjic. Join other chess aficionados for a fun evening of play. There are boards and clocks available, and players of all skill levels are welcome.
In addition, attendees will get a $30 gift card that can be used for snacks, drinks, meals, and other purchases. Attendees must RSVP in order to participate. As soon as there is availability, sign up for the queue to be informed.
Millennium Park Summer Music Series
Visit Pritzker Pavilion for the seven-part Millennium Park Summer Music Series, which features a variety of music from both up-and-coming and well-established artists, on select Mondays and Thursdays from July 1–August 8.

Come celebrate an evening of wine, beer, and snacks with Goddess and Grocer in support of PAWS Chicago. Along with snacking stations, served appetizers, and desserts, guests can enjoy a variety of wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Chicago Ducky Derby
This yearly fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois sees a whooping 30,000–100,000 rubber duckies race down the Chicago River from a dump truck at Columbus Drive Bridge, depending on how many are “adopted” by race day.
Adopting a single duck costs $10; a “Quack Pack” (six ducks) costs $30; a “Ducky Dozen” (12 ducks) costs $60; a “Flock of Ducks” (24 ducks) costs $120; or a “Diamond Duck Pack” (240 ducks) costs $1,200.
Should your duck win the race, you could win a new car, a VIP experience at Six Flags Great America, and a sum of $2,500 in cash. However, watching is always free. I hope the best duck comes out on top!

Bud Billiken Parade
Just before the start of the school year, Chicago’s youth are honored with the 95th edition of the largest and oldest African-American parade in the world. Attendees in their hundreds of thousands fill the streets to witness vibrant floats, marching bands, and exceptional drill and dance teams.
Starting at 35th Street and Martin Luther King Drive in the Bronzeville area, the two-mile route of the march heads south past Washington Park and ends at 55th Street (Garfield Boulevard).
