Tragic Crash in Erath County Claims Two Lives and Leaves One Woman Critically Injured on U.S. 281

ERATH COUNTY, Texas (DDN) – According to police, a tragic crash in Erath County killed two people and badly injured another woman.

On Jan. 17 about 3 p.m., a young couple was driving south on U.S. 281 in a Cadillac CT5, while a 63-year-old woman was going north on the same road in a Hyundai Santa Fe, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to early findings, the 63-year-old woman drifted into the young couple’s lane and collided with them just north of County Road 719.

The 63-year-old woman, Karen Huey of Lipan, and the young guy, Jaelen Green, 21, of Watauga, were both pronounced dead on the scene, according to DPS.

Nicole Doggett, 22, of Georgetown, was critically injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital, according to DPS.
