Tragic Crash in New Albany 23-Year-Old Man Dies After Colliding with Pole

DDN – A 23-year-old man died after his automobile collided with a pole early Sunday morning in New Albany, Indiana.

Around 1:40 a.m., Indiana State Police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1800 block of Klerner Lane.

According to authorities, 23-year-old Cole Lamkin of Charlestown, Indiana, drove off the road and into a pole.

Lamkin was the only person in the car and was transported to UofL Hospital, where he eventually died.

Lamkin reportedly hit a mailbox and a utility pole, but it is unclear why his vehicle left the road.

According to ISP, there was no evidence of alcohol or narcotics, and the weather played no role.
