DDN – Authorities say a 32-year-old Walworth County man died in a vehicle crash in Racine County on Wednesday.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. near Norway at the intersection of Highways K and S, also known as Apple Road and North Beaumont Avenue.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the 32-year-old driver of a passenger automobile was stopped at the Beaumont Avenue stop sign and drove out in front of a utility pickup truck on Highway K driven by a 28-year-old Racine County resident.
The sheriff’s office believes the Walworth County guy was unfamiliar with the area. The man was extricated from the highly damaged car, and life-saving measures were taken, but he died at the site, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the pickup vehicle remained on the site and is completely cooperating with the investigation. The sheriff’s office stated that neither driver showed any signs of intoxication and that there were no additional occupants in the vehicles.
No other information was immediately provided.
