A multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday in the 5300 block of Highway 95 resulted in the death of a motorcycle.
According to Bart Graves, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the biker was transported by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead almost immediately upon arrival.
According to the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Marshal John Clark, the motorbike collided with a Ford Flex in the 5300 block of Highway 95 at approximately 1:15 p.m. after the collision.
It was Classic Air medical workers that arrived at the scene first, he stated. At the same time that the motorcycle broke into numerous pieces, the gas tank of the motorcycle became trapped underneath the Ford Flex, which caused the Ford Flex to catch fire. It was not the case that the Ford’s driver was unable to escape the vehicle.
It was reported that the driver of the Ford Flex, who was employed by Valley View, did not sustain any injuries and was released at the scene of the accident.
It was reported by MCSO deputies that the motorbike was not yielding at the intersection of El Rodeo and Highway 95, according to the traffic scanner.
During the time that the motorbike was engaged in the collision, the deputies were not actively chasing it. There was a third vehicle, a white Chevrolet 1500, that was involved in the collision and departed the scene, according to the traffic that was scanned.
It was reported that deputies were out with the Chevrolet and the driver, and they stated that the truck had sideswiped the motorbike by accident. A request for information was made to the MCSO, but they did not answer right away.
Graves established that a third car was involved in the collision; however, he was unable to provide any specifics because the accident is still being investigated.
The two lanes of traffic traveling northbound on Highway 95 were shut down, and traffic was rerouted to travel east on Wagon Wheel.
Additionally, emergency crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation came to the area and limited traffic in the southbound direction to a single lane so that crews could operate safely at the scene.
