Two suspects, identified as Haley Barber and Leo Moore, both 20 years of age and residents of Mesquite, have been taken into custody in connection with the death of Johnny Mac Ross Jr., as shared in a social media update from the

. Ross Jr., 53, was found deceased under suspicious circumstances in his condominium on Monday. The police highlighted signs of foul play and a knife wound on the victim. Following the discovery, the investigation quickly led to the pursuit and capture of the suspects.

Officers initially responded to the incident at a residence on the 4500 block of Chaha Road, where they found Ross Jr. Deeper. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2001 Mercedes belonging to the victim had been stolen. The stolen vehicle was later spotted, which led to a vehicle pursuit on Miller Road near LBJ Freeway before the suspects, Barber and Moore, briefly escaped on foot but ultimately were apprehended by Garland officers. Both Barber and Moore are now facing charges of Capital Murder, and they are being held in custody at the Garland Detention Center with no bond set.

Evidence links both suspects to the scene, and the investigation into their relationship with the victim continues. Garland Police encourage anyone with information to come forward.
