Two Carjacking Victims Involved in Shooting Incident at Trader's Point; One Suspect Dead, One Fleeing

INDIANAPOLIS  (DDN) – A carjacking suspect died in a shooting at Trader’s Point shopping center on Wednesday morning.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that around 5:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5700 block of 86th Street.

As police were on their approach, another 911 call alerted them to an attempted robbery involving two armed criminals.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but later died.

According to IMPD, two guys were at the site after being carjacked in different incidents. Throughout the incident, one of the victims was armed.

According to IMPD, while the suspects attempted to carjack the second victim, the first victim discharged his pistol, striking one of them.

The second suspect fled on foot before officers arrived, according to police.

A knife was also found at the crime scene.
