Two Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Kingsland, Llano County Sheriff Investigating

Tragic events occurred in the sleepy community of Kingsland on Tuesday night, leaving two people dead in what is thought to be a murder-suicide. The Llano County Sheriff’s Office received a frightening 911 call from a woman who claimed that she had locked herself and her four-year-old daughter inside her house after hearing many gunshots, according to a report by FOX 7 Austin.

The awful calm of suspense that greeted arriving deputies was broken by two gunshots from the front yard, where they later found two males dead and wounded by gunshot wounds. Even though it was dark outside and there were trees blocking the view, law officers cautiously approached the location in an attempt to speak with the culprit, who was identified as 35-year-old Jon Kendrick.

Residents told FOX 7 Austin that the town was engulfed in fear and confusion. Unaware of what had happened, Elizabeth Lemon returned from picking up her daughter from school to find the streets blocked off and the police heavily positioned. “All of a sudden, you hear those shots, and you re thinking what happened?” said Dali Ixek, another local, in reference to the inhabitants’ fear. A local kid named Genesis Xagada also expressed her concerns, highlighting how the incident affected the sense of safety in the neighborhood.

The sheriff’s office verified that the deceased suspect was Jon Kendrick in a news release that Yahoo News reported. The identity of the second guy discovered has been kept secret until the next of kin has been notified, even though Kendrick has been identified. The caller and her daughter were later discovered unharmed at the terrible scene, which was also attended by troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Granite Shoals Police Department, and Sunrise Beach Police Department.
