Two individuals lost their lives in a collision early today on I-271 North in Pepper Pike as a result of one vehicle traveling against the flow of traffic, per police reports. According toWKYC, a 2017 Toyota Tundra was moving southbound in the northbound lanes and collided with a 2024 GMC truck north of Chagrin Boulevard.

The violent impact of the crash, which happened just after midnight, resulted in the deployment of numerous emergency personnel to the scene. Both drivers were rushed to the hospital, where each succumbed to their injuries. Police say both were taken to Hillcrest Hospital after the Toyota collided with the GMC truck. Following the accident, the northbound lanes of I-271 experienced closure for several hours, creating substantial delays while investigators and clean-up crews worked on the scene.
