Two Injured as Minivan Plows into Building in St. Cloud Retirement Community

Last night, a red Ford minivan and a gray Volkswagen collided, sending the latter crashing into an office building, causing chaos in a St. Cloud 55+ community. Police said the incident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. next to The Mark, a senior-focused mobile home neighborhood, according to ClickOrlando. After the collision, the minivan’s path proceeded unchecked until it was violently joined to the building, leaving a huge hole in its wake.

In addition to compromising the structure of the building, the hit confined the driver of the minivan, who was later freed by St. Cloud firefighters and police. The driver’s release was anything but simple, as doors were trapped by the building’s recalcitrant embrace. Witness Jahimael Hance highlighted the effect of the incident by sharing pictures of the car’s liftgate protruding from the tower.

The incident was also covered by FOX 35 Orlando, which stated that both drivers were treated on the spot before being transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The town is left with unresolved concerns and a disturbed sense of calm since authorities have not disclosed the cause of the collision or whether charges would be brought.
