A heartbreaking domestic violence incident in Geneva, Illinois, has left two people dead, including a 13-year-old boy, with a male suspect now in custody.
On Thursday evening, around 8 p.m., Geneva Police were called to the Emma’s Landing subdivision, located in the 2700 block of Emma’s Way, following a report of a fatal domestic violence situation. Officers arrived at the scene to find two victims who had sustained fatal injuries. Despite efforts to save them, both were later pronounced dead after being transported to local hospitals.
One of the victims, a 13-year-old boy, was tragically pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center, as confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities arrested a male suspect at the scene and took him into custody. He is currently detained and facing four counts of first-degree murder, as authorized by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. The suspect’s identity has not been released as of Friday evening.
The State’s Attorney’s Office has also indicated that they will seek to deny the suspect pretrial release, pending a court hearing. However, details about the exact circumstances of the incident have not yet been disclosed by Geneva Police.
