, witnesses reported seeing the suspects outside an SUV, actively shooting at objects on the playground within an apartment complex.

Responding promptly to the scene around 4 a.m. on the 200 block of Taft Court, Battle Creek Police discovered the vehicle in question and apprehended a 19-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger. Standing outside the SUV, officers conducted a traffic stop and found a rifle and ammunition intimately nestled between them.
