Two Men Found Dead in Washington Forest After Searching for Sasquatch, Deaths Likely Due to Exposure

According to the authorities in Washington State, two men were discovered dead in a secluded forest when they were hunting for Sasquatch, which is also widely referred to as Bigfoot during their search.

On Christmas Day, a family member reported that the two men from Portland, Oregon had not returned from a trip to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest to look for evidence of the mythical hairy, forest-dwelling, bipedal apes. Two days later, on Christmas Day, the bodies of the two men were discovered. The search had been going on for three days.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release that the search was conducted by more than sixty volunteers together with aircrafts and dogs. The search was conducted in terrain that was highly wooded and in weather conditions that were extremely cold.

“Both deaths appear to be due to exposure, based on weather conditions and ill-preparedness,” according to the official announcement.

According to the statement, the sheriff’s office discovered a vehicle that belonged to the victims in the vicinity of the town of Willard, and so the search was redirected to that particular region. In addition to the deployment of drones, a helicopter reconnaissance crew from the Coast Guard was dispatched to assist in the search.

The names of the two victims, who are 37 and 59 years old, have not been disclosed by the authorities.

Snow, freezing rain, and temperatures that dropped below freezing were some of the elements that had characterized the weather in the Cascade mountains in the days leading up to and during the search.

Additionally, rescue workers had to contend with rising water levels in rivers as well as fallen trees.

The Pacific Northwest region of the United States and western Canada have both been the locations where hundreds of sightings of Sasquatch have been documented. In addition to the Loch Ness Monster, this monster is considered to be one of the most well-known cryptids in the world.

As a result of the large number of reported sightings, several towns have taken funny precautions in order to safeguard the mythical monster with the hairy appearance.

In the county of Skamania, where the two figures went missing, a person who causes harm to one of the folklore creatures faces the possibility of a year in jail or a fine of one thousand dollars.
