Indianapolis, IN (DDN) – Authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery at a Dollar General store on the city’s east side. The robbery, which occurred late Tuesday evening, led to a swift response from law enforcement, culminating in the arrests of the two suspects.
The robbery took place around 9:30 p.m. at the Dollar General located at 4600 E. 10th Street. Employees reported that two masked individuals entered the store, armed and demanding money from the cash register. Witnesses said the suspects threatened store workers and customers before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident prompted a swift response from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers, who arrived shortly after receiving reports of the robbery. Despite an initial search of the surrounding area, the suspects managed to escape before authorities could apprehend them.
In the hours following the robbery, investigators worked tirelessly to gather evidence and track down the suspects. Surveillance footage from the store, as well as tips from the public, played a key role in identifying the individuals responsible.
Within 24 hours of the robbery, IMPD officers located and arrested the two suspects at separate locations. The suspects, identified as 23-year-old Jason Turner and 28-year-old Brittany Davis, were taken into custody without incident.
Turner and Davis are both facing charges of armed robbery, theft, and intimidation. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as new evidence comes to light.
The robbery has raised concerns among local residents about safety in the area. The Dollar General store, which serves many in the nearby community, was temporarily closed following the robbery, but has since resumed normal operations.
“This was a terrifying incident for our employees and customers,” said the store’s manager, who wished to remain anonymous. “We’re grateful for the quick response from law enforcement and are relieved to know the suspects are in custody.”
Community leaders have expressed their commitment to working with law enforcement to improve safety in the area and prevent similar incidents in the future. Turner and Davis are currently being held in the Marion County Jail, with their court appearances scheduled for later this week.
