A multiple-vehicle accident that occurred in Wilkinson County resulted in the deaths of two people from the state of Tennessee, according to the coroner Dusty Thomas.
Thomas stated that at approximately 5:30 in the morning on Monday, a semi-truck was in the process of going south on Highway 441.
When heading west on Highway 112, an SUV that was carrying four persons from Tennessee ran a stop sign and drove directly into the path of a semi-truck coming from the opposite direction.
Katie Dixon, who was 55 years old, and Jerome Dixon, who was also 55 years old, both perished in the collision. Jimmy Beard, who is 43 years old, is currently in critical condition.
According to Thomas, the collision resulted in the death of both the driver of the SUV and the individual who was sitting in the passenger seat.
Both individual passengers in the backseat sustained injuries. An individual was initially transported to Fairview Park in Dublin; however, they have subsequently been evacuated to Atrium Health Navicent, where they are currently in critical condition.
Other passengers, including a youngster aged six years old who was seated in a car seat, sustained relatively minor injuries.
