U.S. Navy Blue Angels Set for Spectacular Return to Columbus Air Show in 2025

Crew members recently traveled to Rickenbacker International Airport to begin preparing for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ August 2025 return to the Columbus Air Show. Major Scott Laux and Lieutenant Commander Lilly Montana, both Blue Angels, were on-site Monday to prepare for an event that sold out two years ago during its first resurgence, according to NBC4i.

Laux, who will narrate the program, emphasized the Blue Angels’ goal “to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the Navy and Marine Corps through flight demonstration and community outreach, hoping to inspire a culture of excellence and service to country” in a statement obtained by The Columbus Dispatch. Montana, on the other hand, is responsible for organizing the logistics of the event, including local supplies and transportation. Since joining the squad in September, both of them have been diligently preparing.

A combination of aerial and ground spectacles will be included at the future air show, which is scheduled for August 22–24, 2025, and is expected to feature the Blue Angels as the main attraction along with civilian aerobatic performers, contemporary military aircraft, and vintage warbirds. The show’s tickets are presently available for purchase online, according to FOX 28 Columbus.

Laux’s journey to Columbus is more than just a business trip. He has personal links to the neighborhood through his wife’s family, according to interviews with NBC4i and The Columbus Dispatch. He said, “My kids run around the house yelling, ‘O-H!’ all the time.” After witnessing his fly, Laux’s family members were quite proud. “It was pretty exciting, especially as they flew over the building so close we could almost see his face,” Laux’s mother-in-law, Joan Schlagheck, remarked, echoing the other family members’ elation upon seeing the well-known pilot in their aerial, majestic form.
