Union City Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Convicted Felon with Suspected Drugs and Illegal Firearm

Over the weekend, a normal traffic stop turned into a big catch for the Union City Police Department. Last Saturday, Officer Moya chose to pull over a driver for breaking a vehicle code. The driver’s registration had been expired for more than a year. During the stop, drugs and a gun that wasn’t supposed to be there were found. The driver, who was later found to be a known felon, was then arrested. In a recent post on social media, the Union City Police Department shared this information.

Things started out casually, but quickly got worse when Officer Moya called the driver. As soon as the cop found out that the car’s registration was wrong, he searched the driver. When they searched, they found several bags that seemed to contain illegal drugs. A loaded semi-automatic gun was found on the rear floorboard of the car after it was looked into more.

Because the driver was a convicted criminal, he was not allowed to have any guns. Since the drugs and gun were found together, the driver was charged with and booked into jail for both drug and gun crimes.
