The Columbus community reels after the fatal shooting of Darnell Brown-Jones, an 18-year-old who was found unresponsive following a reported shooting on the 900 block of Eton Grove. According to a media release from theColumbus Division of Police, police were dispatched to the scene on Thursday at 10:29 PM, where they discovered Brown-Jones with a gunshot wound.

Columbus Fire medics pronounced Brown-Jones deceased at the scene at 10:38 PM. While his identity was initially presumptive, it has since been confirmed, and his next of kin has been notified. Detectives are now working to quickly ascertain the complete picture of this crime, including the motives behind Brown-Jones’ untimely death, with robbery being explored as a possible underlying cause.
