UPDATE: Las Vegas Man Accused of Multitude of Burglaries Held on $500K Bail

After being charged with a string of burglaries that allegedly affected over 30 valley companies, mostly in Chinatown, a guy from Las Vegas was given a stiff $500,000 bond. According to FOX5 Vegas, Judge Rebecca Saxe of the Las Vegas Justice Court imposed the bond amount for 34-year-old Cedric Hasan, who was detained earlier this week. Given the seriousness of the charges, Hasan’s bond was tens of times more than the $10,000 requested by the defense.

Charged with a link to burglaries in the Spring Mountain region and a recent incident in North Las Vegas, Hasan was employed as a welder via the Hope for Prisoners program following his 2019 sentence. Prosecutors claim that Hasan caused significant damage and took more than $213,000 during the break-ins. Documentation from 8 News Now claims that Hasan was seen on camera escaping the area after police were alerted to an incident involving the powering off of an alarm.

Hasan’s criminal history began in 2010, and he has a history of burglary convictions. After being released from prison for a 2019 burglary charge, he went on his most recent rampage. According to FOX5 Vegas, during court procedures, it was discovered that the GPS history of his car and cellphone frequently put him at the scenes of the break-ins.

In the turmoil that has engulfed the Spring Mountain business community since June, Hasan’s arrest marks a turning point. When word got out about the arrest, shop owners were clearly relieved. “Let this be a reminder to anyone who thinks that they can prey on this community and commit crimes in this city,” said Deputy Chief Jose Hernandez, who was cited by Hoodline, emphasizing the value of collaboration among the business community. In this inquiry, the LVMPD will pursue every lead and look everywhere.

Detectives are still considering the complete scope of the damage and the overall number of events while Hasan awaits his return to court for arraignment on Monday, November 25. According to the court’s directions, if Hasan is able to post bond, the judge has also mandated that he refrain from going near companies.
