Last year, a driver who was involved in a road rage incident that killed two people in Utah County pleaded guilty and took responsibility for the collision. According to FOX13, Peterson Drew Matheson was operating a Ford F-150 when he got into a fatal altercation with a Nissan Maxima. Rodney Salm and Michaela Himmleberger, also known as Mischa, were killed when his truck struck their Porsche 911 head-on on SR-73.
Salm and Himmelberger died instantly in the collision after Matheson lost control of the car as he drove on the shoulder to ram the side of the other car during the confrontation with the Nissan, according to KSLTV. In response to the plea agreement, Rodney’s brother Peter Salm expressed a measured reaction, saying, “I’m fine with it.” Families and the court system were left to deal with the fallout. I don’t like to take revenge. I am aware that this man did not wake up in the morning and plan to go kill two people. That isn’t how it happens. However, I also think he is responsible for his behavior. Additionally, this court has been quite fair to the victims in this case,” he told KSLTV.
Peterson Matheson’s ex-wife, Ashley Matheson, emphasized the incident’s secondary victims, their kids, and bemoaned their loss of a current father.
