Vallejo Community Tips Lead to Arrest of Armed Felon with Active Warrants

Residents reported a man flashing a gun in public on Tuesday afternoon, apparently unconcerned, to the Vallejo Police Department. This person was walking close to the intersection of Broadway Street and Tennessee Street, which led to several police reports.

Officers from the Patrol Division were sent after the incident and noticed a man who fit the citizen descriptions, according to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department. Officers kept the man, who was discovered on Tuolumne Street near Cassady Street, probably for their own protection as they looked into the matter. The officers saw the man who fit the description when he was out on the street.

When cops searched the individual after he gave his permission to carry a loaded firearm, they discovered the unregistered weapon in his jacket pocket. A closer look at his record showed that the individual had two outstanding arrest warrants for vandalism and arson in addition to being a convicted criminal.

Officers found a significant amount of methamphetamine on the man’s person after continuing their search, which was meant to be comprehensive. Following these discoveries, the suspect was arrested on several criminal charges, including possession of a controlled narcotic and possession of a handgun by a felon.

All seized materials, including the firearm, ammo, and drugs, were booked into evidence, as stated in the department’s announcement. The man, whose name has not been made public, was taken to the Solano County Jail following the arrest.
