The reported incidents occurred on October 30 and involved four individuals who were apprehended after their alleged crime spree. Cindy Portillo and Julian Rivera, both from Los Angeles, were apprehended with numerous stolen items, including sunglasses and clothing, worth an estimated $1,000. . Following this duo’s arrest, Ventura County detectives continued surveillance and identified two more suspects, Angel Herrera and Kyla Hernandez of Oxnard, in unrelated theft incidents.

The coordinated efforts of various agencies within Ventura County manifest a united front against this escalating criminal activity. Captured suspects, Portillo and Riveros, face multiple charges, including organized retail theft and child endangerment, as they were allegedly carrying out the illegal activities with a baby present.

Similarly, the additional suspects, Angel Herrera and Kyla Hernandez were arrested with several hundreds of dollars worth of stolen clothing in their possession, with an estimated value, like their counterparts, to be about $1,000. In a troubling revelation, Hernandez was found to have three outstanding felony warrants for identity theft and one misdemeanor warrant for shoplifting. Herrera was no stranger to the law either, with two misdemeanor warrants for narcotics possession and being under the influence of narcotics.
